Excellent food, beautiful patio, and professional service. Everything we had was great! Would highly recommend. We happened upon this cafe offering the most beautiful courtyard dining service complete with wine vine canopy. We have been on a West coast motorcycle excursion and stopped at the square to see what was available Our host and waitperson were extremely attentive We were walking around the squarw several years ago and decided to try this bacause we wanted Italian food for lunch.
It was great. Now we go here everytime we go to Sonoma either for lunch or dinner. We stumbled on Della Santina's on our latest trip to wine country. We were drawn in by all the aromatics and great meal choices. The meal started with a nice bread with balsamic and some local wine.
For dinner I got the tortellini with cream Absolutely delicious dinner and fantastic service! They also have a bar that is attached to the restaurant so you can have a few drinks before dinner and head straight into the restaurant without going back outside helpful in the winter months when it is freezing The food we had was heavenly.
I practically licked my plate clean. And after a full day of wineries I thoroughly enjoyed the bread they provided before our meal began. I loved the quaint outdoor Italian atmosphere, my wife was not as big a fan The back patio with the fountain and the Visiting Sonoma we were told to check out Sonoma plaza. So glad we did. Great town with so many places to go to. We decided to eat here and we were so glad we did.
Amazing Armand the staff is awesome! The food was incredibleThe following four classifications of wine constitute the Italian system of labelling and legally protecting Italian wine :.
It was overhauled in to match new European Union law on Protected Designation of Originintroducing the more general Denominazione di Origine Protetta DOP designation for foods and agricultural products, including wines.
Indicazione geografica tipica was created in to recognize the unusually high quality of the class of wines known as Super Tuscansand to be broadly equivalent to the French vin de pays designation. IGT wines are labelled with the locality of their creation, but do not meet the requirements of the stricter DOC or DOCG designations, which are generally intended to protect traditional wine formulations such as Chianti or Barolo.
It requires that a wine satisfy a defined quality standard, and be produced within the specified region. Unlike IGT, the DOC definitions will usually specify additional more stringent rules regarding permitted grape varieties, harvest yields, minimum ageing including use of barrels, minimum alcohol content, and other factors.
Historically the DOC status has been used to classify other food products such as cheeses, olive oil and vinegar, but the Denominazione di origine protetta DOP is now used instead. For wines produced in Bolzanowhere German is an official language, DOC may alternatively be written as Kontrollierte Ursprungsbezeichnung. Denominazione di origine controllata e garantita is intended to be a superior classification to DOC, and is the highest classification in Italy.
All DOCG wines from each producer are analysed and tasted by government—licensed judgement panel before being bottled.
These controls are usually some combination of a lower proportion of blending grapes, lower yields, higher minimum alcohol, longer ageing requirements, and so on. The need for a DOCG identification arose when the DOC designation was, in the view of many Italian food industries, given too liberally to different products.
A new, more restrictive identification was then created as similar as possible to the previous one so that buyers could still recognize it, but qualitatively different.
Italian legislation additionally regulates the use of qualifying terms for wines. For Chianti Classicothis traditional region is defined by a decree. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Di Matteo made a desperate trip to Sicily to try to negotiate his son's release but on January 11,after days, the boy, who by now had also become physically ill due to mistreatment, was finally strangled, and the body was subsequently dissolved in a barrel of acid — a practice known colloquially as the lupara bianca.
InDi Matteo and Brusca met face to face during court proceedings. Bursting into tears Di Matteo told the judge: "I guarantee my collaboration, but to this animal I guarantee nothing. If you leave me alone with him for two minutes I'll cut off his head.
In Octoberthe pentito Di Matteo was rearrested. Although a key witness in several important trials underway, he had returned home to recommence his criminal activities and avenge atrocities carried out on family members. In March Di Matteo was released early, along with four others, in return for cooperating with magistrates, outraging relatives of Falcone, who stated that the system of pentiti safeguarded killers from prosecution for murder.
He tried to live a normal life in the town but was shunned by the townspeople. Before his arrest, Di Matteo had already become hesitant about the violent strategy of the Corleonesi.
In their testimonies Di Matteo and another pentito, Salvatore Cancemi described the victory celebration that followed the Capaci bombing. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. And salad with shrimp pasta and fish sandwiches were all raves about. Service excellent. The food is extraordinary, and everything is gluten-free!!
A real find for celiacs. My wife and I shared an appetizer and main dish. Both were excellent if a bit expensive. The wine by the glass was pretty expensive given the quality and amount they pour. Where they really fell down though was dessert. We ordered it and were sorry the minute we saw it. It was okay, nothing special.
But after a meal, who wants to eat a pint of ice cream? And, except for sherbet instead of gelato, there was nothing else!
We might go back there if we're at the Whitney museum--the food was good, but we'll have dessert somewhere else. Brunch was amazing. Zucchini Muffins are insanely delish!
Cocktails always wonderful.
